Why should everyone own a Jiffy® Power Ice Drill?
Jiffy is the #1, fastest, smoothest cutting Ice Drill on the market.

What are the differences between Jiffy 30 Series and Jiffy 70 Series power ice drills?
The Jiffy 30 Series models use a Jiffy 3500 Series engine and the HTT transmission, the Jiffy 70 Series models use a Jiffy 2500 Series engine and the HST transmission, they all have a one-year warranty by Jiffy. They ALL use the same single reduction gearbox that rotates the ice drill in a counter-clockwise direction.

What is the difference between the Jiffy Model 31 LEGEND XT™ and the Jiffy Model 30™?
They both use the same Jiffy 3500 Series engine, the same HTT gearbox. The Model 30 Series has the standard FirePower™ drill. The Jiffy LEGEND XT Model 31 powerheads are black and have convenience features for added value: the  LEGEND XT comes with Black Powder Coated Paint, D-Ice'r ARMOR™ drill, Jiffy Mitten-Grip recoil starter for easier engine starting and the wide stance Cushion Contour Handles for positive grip and control.

What is the difference between the Jiffy Model SD60i and the LEGEND LIGHTning XT?
The same Jiffy 2500 Series engine is used for the Jiffy SD60i (Model 60) and the LEGEND LIGHTning XT Model 77. The engine on the LEGEND LIGHTning XT is black. They all use the same high-speed HST gearbox used with all Jiffy 2500 Series engine power ice drills.
The SD60i comes with standard FirePower™ drill and LEGEND LIGHTning XT comes with Black Powder Coated Paint, FirePower D-Ice'r ARMOR™ drill and the wide stance Cushion Contour Handles for positive grip and control.

What is the Stealth™?
Cutting Technology cuts incredibly fast, cuts through ice 20% faster than standard Auger Blades. The New Stealth™ Cutting Technology premium features are:<strong>The Stealth™ Serrated Power Point - A  positive guide to smooth easy cutting. Five Cutting Surfaces - Make this the fastest ice cutting drill by Jiffy. Black D-Ice'r ARMOR - Prevents power-robbing ice build up for fast, clean, cutting performance. New Serrated Chipper Tooth RIPPER BLADE - Provides Smooth, Fast, Long Lasting Cutting Performance.

 What is the Stealth STX™?
The Stealth STX™ is a new Cutting Blade Technology that goes through a special processing treatment which significantly lengthens and enhances performances of the blades. This new Technology gives the blades 2-3 times longer life than any competitive blade on the market. It has a 1-year limited warranty on the Jiffy Power Engine, 2-Year  limited warranty on the Gear Box, and a 3-year limited warranty on the STX  Blade. This is how Jiffy earns the title "Professional Grade" in Power Augers.

What is the STX PROII™?
The STX PROII 3500 Series has all the same cutting features as the STEALTH STX 2500 Series and more! STX PROII new  standard features are; New HTT (High Torque Transmission) Transmission - transfers more engine energy for additional torque, for faster, solid performance, New Style Cushioned Compact Handles and Throttle Control. Available in 8", 9" and 10" Drill Assemblies.

What is Jiffy D-Ice'r ARMOR™, and what does it do?
Jiffy D-Ice'r ARMOR is a coating that is Jiffy's exclusive ice shedding protection against ice build up. Even in the coldest conditions, ice can form, but it can't stick to Jiffy D-Ice'r ARMOR. With a Jiffy FirePower D-Ice'r ARMOR drill, D-Ice'r ARMOR is on the drill head (bottom), preventing power-robbing ice build-up for fast, clean cutting performance.

What is the Jiffy FirePower™ Drill?
FirePower is the standard Ice Auger.

What is the Jiffy RIPPER BLADE™ and what does it do?
The serrated Jiffy RIPPER BLADE™ with the serrations provides 15% faster and smoother cut to the Jiffy chipper tooth blade design. The combination of Jiffy D-Ice'r ARMOR on the bottom end of the drill and the RIPPER BLADE provide the best combination of fast cutting and resistance to ice up, hole after hole.

Will Stealth™, Stealth STX™ or STX PROII blades work on other Jiffy Models?
No, these blades are specially engineered manufactured and will only fit work on above Jiffy Models.

Are the ice drills made for the Jiffy 3500 Series - 30 Series Models and the Jiffy 2500 Series - 70 Series Models interchangeable?
Yes. Jiffy has gone to a universal system for ice drills. The 6", 8", 9" will fit 2500 Series and 3500 Series units. The 10" is for the 3500 Series only.

Can a drill from another manufacturer be used with a Jiffy Powerhead?
No, it will not work. Only Jiffy Power Ice Drills use high-speed, single reduction gearboxes, which turn the ice drills counter-clockwise. All other drills turn clockwise.

Can a Jiffy Power Ice Drill be used to open old (re-frozen) holes in the ice?
Jiffy Power Ice Drills are ideal for initial drilling & redrilling of holes, this has been done for years.

Can the blades on a Jiffy Ice Drill be re-sharpened?
Yes, Jiffy Power Ice Drill blades (cutting teeth) can be  re-sharpened, but care must be taken to maintain the precise factory  angles. It's wise to keep a properly sharpened or new spare blade handy. While it is possible to re-sharpen the pilot point with a file, it is best sharpened with a grinder. It is also important to maintain the angles that were ground at the factory. Never try to re-sharpen hand ice drill blades. Once they are dull you must purchase a new set.

Can hand ice drill blades be used on a power ice drill?
No.

Does the Jiffy Power Ice Drill contain plastic gears?
No, ALL Jiffy Power Ice Drills use the same high-speed gearbox containing hardened steel gears. The  Jiffy Power ice Drill gearbox is a single stage design with a 12:1 or 15:1 gear ratio.

Can a Jiffy Power Ice Drill Powerhead be used to drill holes in dirt?
Yes. . .but you need to purchase the special Jiffy Earth Auger made especially for the Jiffy power head. They are for consumer use only and they come in 4 different sizes; 2" (part no. 3622), 4" (part no. 3714), 6" (part no.  3646) and an 8" (part no. 3648). The earth auger assemblies are designed to work with a high speed Jiffy powerhead that turns in a counter-clockwise direction.

What is the correct mixture of oil and gasoline to use for fuel in a Jiffy?
The correct ratio for all Jiffy Power Ice Drills is 40 to 1. This means 3.2 oz of Jiffy Two-Cycle Oil is mixed with 1 Gallon of fresh gasoline. If you don't use a 40:1 oil mixture it will void all warranties.

Can motor oil or four-cycle oil be used for the fuel mix?
NO!

Can regular unleaded gas be used for the fuel mix?
Yes, it is the gasoline type recommended for use by the engine manufacturer.  Gasoline with more than 10% Ethanol is not recommended.

Is it ok to leave fuel in a Jiffy Power Ice Drill during the summer months?
Yes, when using Jiffy 2 Cycle Smokeless Oil with Fuel Stabilizer. The proper storage procedure is located in the manual.
